FAQ

Quick answers to common questions about getting started, logging, and how the system works.

Do I need to set everything up before I start?

No. You can start with a few accounts and build over time. The system is designed to be useful from the beginning, even with minimal data.

What is the daily brief?

The daily brief is a short summary of relationships that may need attention. It shows who to reach out to, upcoming important dates, and context for how to follow up. Some days it will prompt action. Other days it will confirm you're on track.

What are relationship signals?

Signals are system-generated indicators derived from your interaction history. They describe whether a relationship is strengthening or drifting, how regularly you're in touch, and how broadly you're maintaining your network. Signals improve as you log more interactions.

How much detail should I log?

Short notes are sufficient. A sentence or two capturing what was discussed is enough. Consistency is more important than detail — frequent brief entries are more useful than occasional long ones.

Can I import my existing contacts?

Yes. SecondTouch supports CSV import to bulk-create accounts. This is useful for onboarding an existing network. Imported accounts can be edited after creation.

Does the system improve over time?

Yes. As more interactions are logged, signals become more accurate and the brief becomes more precise. You don't need to configure anything — it improves naturally with use.
